Why this resource exists

Est. 1845

I’m JC Naquin. I’ve spent 25+ years in Controls Engineering and Industrial Automation, and 10+ years studying Louisiana’s Justice Courts, Civil Procedure, and Criminal Procedure.

When I decided to run for Justice of the Peace, I needed to prove to myself that I was qualified. Not to voters—to myself. So I started systematically testing my knowledge against the actual statutes and procedures.

That process revealed something: I could use my technical skills to build something useful. If I was going to organize this information for my own reference, I might as well make it available to others.

This site is an educational resource. It documents Louisiana Justice of the Peace court procedures with references to the underlying statutes. It’s meant to help people understand how these courts work.

It’s not perfect. There may be errors or gaps. I intend to continue improving it—adding features, refining content, and expanding coverage. If you find something wrong or have suggestions, I welcome feedback.
